Cocoa butter is obtained from fruits of evergreen cocoa tree Theobroma cacao by using method of grinding and pressing with following refining. Its homeland is South America, widely cultivated on the south of Western Africa, in Nigeria and Ghana, in West Indies, South America, and Oceania.

Botanical name of cocoa tree comes from Greek words: Theos – god and Broma – food – «Food of the Gods» and owes for it to Karl Linney. And this name express not only that at the first time chocolate was known only at the royal court of Spain, then in France, but and that product has truly unique smell, divine taste. Generic name of cocoa, or as it is often called in many Latin American countries – “cacao” with its etymological roots comes from languages of ancient Mesoamerican civilizations Aztec and Maya.

In 1710 cocoa butter was officially introduced in pharmacology of all countries, and it still has no worth alternative, despite of all progress in synthetic chemistry. Cocoa butter is used in medicine as softening and as a base for suppositories. It is used in homeopathy.

Properties: nutritious, moisturizing, softening, protective, tonic, regenerative.

Methods of external application: before using it is necessary to place bottle with oil in “water bath” at temperature 40-50 °C for few minutes, until butter became liquid.

Cocoa butter can be used in pure form, composed in blends with other oils, as base oil for making compositions with natural essential oils, for enrichment with natural oil ready cosmetic preparations: creams, masks, shampoos, balsams. It is used for applications, bandages, smearings, preparing massage and cosmetic blends.

Apply thin layer on a cleaned skin. After massage remove rest of oil with soft tissue.

Anti-inflammatory mask for all skin types
1 teaspoon of cocoa butter, 1 teaspoon of camomile oil, 1 tablespoon of grated cucumber, juice of one aloe leaf. Blend to the homogeneous mass, apply on face for 30 minutes, and wash with warm water. It is recommended to make mask for all night.

Nourishing mask
1 teaspoon of cocoa butter, 1 teaspoon of wheat germ oil, 1 tablespoon of avocado pulp (can be changed with pumpkin), carefully stir. Apply on face for 20-30 minutes, wash with warm water. Can be used 3-4 times a week.

Insects repellent (for delicate, sensitive skin)
1 tablespoon of cocoa butter, 5 drops of basil essential oil, 5 drops of lemon essential oil, 5 drops of eucalyptus essential oil. Carefully stir and apply on face and body.
