Fennel has become popular as a spice only in conjunction with high cuisine and was formerly known as a medicinal herb. The main components of fennel seed essential oil are anethole, fenchone and estragole, which are famous for their ability to increase milk secretion during lactation. Therefore essential oil and fennel seeds are widely used in industry as active ingredients in dietary supplements and tea for lactating women. But for those who drink this tea, it is important to know that anethole gets into the milk and on the one hand reduces colic and is quite safe and on the other hand is a potential allergen, so it cannot completely replace regular drinks [1].

Fennel oil is a valuable ingredient in cosmetics because it improves the production of collagen in tissues [2]. Increases skin elasticity and turgor, smoothes skin relief, smoothes fine wrinkles, tones and brightens gray skin. Used as a balancing agent for oily skin and against cellulite.

It is not recommended to exceed a concentration of 0.2% in face masks, creams and oil mixtures (about 6-7 drops per 100 g of base).
