INCI: juglans regia seed oil.
Walnut oil is obtained from kernels of walnuts by using method of cold pressing, with following refining.
About ten centuries ago these nuts were brought in Kievan Rus by Greek merchants. Since then they’ve been called “walnut”, or “Greek nut”. In Middle Ages there was an opinion, that walnut was headache remedy, as with its shape it reminded human brain. Even today name of walnut in Afghanistan sounds like charmarghz, what means “four brains”. An ancient Greek historian Herodotes was asserted that priests of ancient Babylon forbade ordinary people to eat walnuts, as they thought that walnuts had beneficial effect on mental work, and commoners didn’t need this.

Methods of external application
Walnut oil can be used in pure form, in blends with other oils, as base oil for making compositions with natural essential oils, for enrichment with natural oil ready cosmetic preparations: creams, masks, shampoos, balsams. Walnut oil is used for applications, bandages, smearings, for making massage and cosmetic blends.
Massage sensitive skin blend 10-15 ml of walnut oil and 4-6 drops of mandarin, lavender or ylang-ylang essential oil.
Oil for prevention varicosity and removal leg swelling
10 – 15 ml of walnut oil and 2-3 drops of cypress essential oil, 2-3 drops of cedar or rosemary essential oil. With this blend massage painful areas of legs to full absorption.
Massage in viral infections, intense joints edema
1/3 part of walnut oil, 1/3 part of cedar oil, 1/3 of almond oil. Massage with this blend painful areas to full absorption.
2 teaspoons of potato mash, 1 teaspoon of walnut oil, 1 teaspoon of chopped green walnut. Apply for 15-20 minutes then wash with warm water.
Anti-inflammatory mask for face
1 teaspoon of walnut oil, 1 teaspoon of cedar oil, 1 teaspoon of sea-buckthorn oil. Apply on face daily for all night, remove rest of oil with tissue.
Oil for problem injured skin
1 tablespoon of walnut oil, 5 drops of tea tree essential oil, 3 drops of thyme essential oil, 2 drops of rosemary essential oil. Apply this blend daily on problem areas of the skin with a gentle massage motions, remove rest with tissue.
