Lime Oil

Ingredients: citrus aurantifolia peel oil (100% pure organic lime essential oil).

Origin: Mexico.

Method of extraction: the essential oil is obtained from the peel of the citrus fruit Citrus aurantifolia by cold pressing.

Aroma: fresh, bitter, citrus peel with a sweet note of lollipops and flowers.

Lime oil obtained by cold pressing contains high levels of polyphenols, which help prevent the oxidation of fats in the skin. Therefore, lime oil is an excellent active ingredient in cosmetics to prevent “black spots” and as a lightening agent for oily and skin with enlarged pores [1]. However, using it like brightening agent you should avoid sunlight (apply not earlier than 60 minutes before sunbathing, better in the evening), as exposure to the sun’s UV rays, similar to bergamot oil, darkens the skin and creates a tanning effect [2].

Lime oil is great for shampoos or hair masks because it not only gives them a wonderful scent, but also helps get rid of dandruff [3].

Caution should be exercised in cosmetic products and it is not recommended to exceed a concentration of 0.7%.

Contraindications: do not use in case of individual intolerance and skin care of children under 3 years. Do not use pure oil for skin care, do not use on the skin before going out in the direct sun. Before using essential oils, make sure that the oil you inhale or apply to the skin does not cause an individual allergic reaction!
